நகர்ந்து கொண்டே பேசக் கூடிய வசதி அளிக்கும் தொலைபேசிகள் நகர்பேசி என்று அழைக்கப் படுகின்றன. இவை கம்பியில்லா தொலைதொடர்புக்கு உதவுபவை. வழக்கம் தொட்டே சாதாரண தொலைபேசிகள் இயங்க அவற்றிற்கு சுவற்றிலுள்ள தொலைபேசி இணைப்பகத்தின் முனையத்துடன் கம்பித் தொடர்பு தேவை. நகர்பேசிகளுக்கு இத்தகைய இணைப்புகள் வானலைகள் மூலம் ஏற்படுத்தப் படுவதால் அவற்றுக்குக் கம்பித் தொடர்பு தேவையில்லை. நகர்பேசியின் இன்னொரு பெயர் செல்பேசி (செல்லுமிடமெல்லாம் எடுத்துச் சென்று பேச இயல்வதால்).
