How did the Buddha travel from Nepal across the vast subcontinent of India, cross the Palk Strait and come to Sri lanka? There were no means of transportation,no roads, no sea going vessels at that time. Some say that he came to sri lanka many times. Can anyone explain.

Dear Tyrrol,
When we refer legends on Lord Buddha's visit to Sri Lanka it says that he created an island and chased away demons to that island called Giri Divaina.Even today, when local witch doctors want to call demons ,they call them from Giri Divaina. In other hand we can assume that even the Lord Buddha has recognized the teritorial integrity for demons.

Excellent article - glad you are writing again. The government has demons of its own, and I wonder to what end they will employ them in the service of promoting the Chintanaya.

According to the ground situation regarding to the HR in Sri Lanka, we can expect what you mentioned in your article.Hiding behind the History and the Buddhism, some consultants (there are massive number of consultants) to the supreme power may suggest to chase away "demons" from this land. But the problem is to find a "Giri Divina".
