Then the people of asked by popular vote to establish Tamil Eelam in the North East. Independence should at least be granted to the people of Tamil Eelam so that they can determine their future. Karuna or no Karuna, LTTE or no LTTE, it is high time to grant independence to the people of Tamil Eelam. Karuna being in UK seems to be blessing in disguise for the GOSL plan. now LTTE'ers want UK to prosucute karuna. if they do, its a good initiative to GOSL as it sets a precedent to future prosecutions. should any LTTE personal ever go into EU or UK, then the GOSL can claim a precedent and get such LTTE operatives also prosecuted. Also that Batticaloa Tamil sub nationalism was lead actually by second generation Tamils originally from Jaffna ahs an anology with Sinhala nationalsim that is fanned by caost Sinhalese groups such as Karave, Durava and Salagama who are immigrants from India themselves.
