Dr. Jayampathy,
It has been 8 yrs since we met at the Conflict Res seminar in Switzerland. Prof Vitharane was there too. You as a senior adviser and Prof V as a Minister have only done what the President dictated. He let both of you to pull the propaganda wagon for 18 months. Though you both have served the President well you have done a disservice to the people. APC is one in many in the life of SL and I did not expect anything to come out of it. But what came out of it is not worth the paper it is written on. The sad part of it is that you both men of high intellect and integrity could not stand by your conviction. True you both are the President’s men therefore loyal to his dictates. But you both are honourable men and I had expected both of you to resign from your positions. That is not copping out, that is sending a message to the president and the people. However I am glad that you both have issued statements that shows the people, that you both disapprove of the position you both were put in. But coming out with the truth of the process after the newspapers reported it does not give much weight to the statements. However, I am sure you and prof V have roles to play in redeeming Sri Lanka.
