Well written. We have the scum of the earth always ruling Sri Lanka. The people suffer.. suffer.... suffer and suffer yet, when it comes to elections, the voters also listen to the scums and become scums.

Will this ever change or should God almighty destroy that evil and idoltrous country like Sodom and Gomorah ?

Let us not underestimate the justice of God.

Dear God, why did the british come and introduce democracy! why this act of mass murder, this act of barbarism?
Democracy can only exist in a a afluent nation, and ideally where there are no career politicans, not a 3rd world country, its money for old rope by the people in power, that's all that will happen in any country if democracy is suddendly installed.
The british should pay for heinous crime committed.

Poignant article Under Dog.

Though I do mirror NdM's sentiments. The majority of Sri Lanka's voting base isn't in Colombo. The majority of Sri Lankans still live in a rural context. This often translates into ignorance and low standards on their part. They are seduced by speeches and false promises...

In my view successive regimes have reinforced this context, keeping the poor man down...keep them ignorant and powerless. We may change leaders frequently but have they been drastically different? Different colours, same politics. It's all about finding the right buttons to push to siphon money and power.

The poor man wants change and is perpetually misled by their short-sightedness. It is a hobson's choice indeed. The rural masses need to be educated and taught to scrutinize ...a paradigm shift from this damaging blind faith.

I happen to think that in the very poetic piece the "Under Dog" is under-estimating the Sri Lankan voters just a wee bit. The Sri Lankan voter change their political leaders with remarkable regularity. That they face a hobson's choice when it comes to voting has, maybe, something to do with the fact that those with honest and noble aspirations tend not to mount election campaigns and ask for a vote.
